Key features to consider when purchasing a log splitter:
- Splitting Position-
Horizontal log splitters may be difficult to operate, because you must lay the logs down sideways to feed them into the splitter.
Logs can be standing up when fed into vertical log splitters, so they are easier to maneuver. If you're working on a hill or uneven surface, a vertical or combination vertical/horizontal splitter will be much easier and safer to operate.
- Horsepower-
Our splitters come in a range from 2 hp up to 13 hp heavy-duty motors
- Log Size-
You should know the average circumference of the logs you will be splitting. Splitters have varying capacities for log size.
- Cycle Time-
Some splitters will cut a full log in as little as 8 seconds, where other machines may take up to 16 seconds.
